Teas & Tinctures

These days, our bodies just aren’t getting all that they need from our food. Conventional farming methods use fertilizers that are produced in a factory and contain the mere basics of plant nutrition.  As a result, soil in the United States has been depleted of many of the minerals and other nutrients that the human body needs to operate at ideal efficiency.

The plants in herbal teas and tinctures are not common food crops and are usually not commercially grown because they have “weedy” properties, that is they grow wild and easily. These plants are our health allies in providing the nutrients missing in our diets.

Tinctures are herbs that are soaked in alcohol (usually vodka). Soaking in alcohol releases the medicinal properties of the herbs. Tinctures are taken by the dropperful under the tongue and held for 30 seconds.

Traditional dosages for tinctures are:

For acute issues: 2 dropperfuls every 2-3 hours for 1 or 2 days and then 2 dropperfuls 2 or 3 times                     per day for 5 days.

For chronic issues or used as tonic: 2 dropperfuls, 3 times a day for 8 to 12 weeks.
